DESIGN & SPECIFICATION

How to Specify a Custom Industrial Gasket

A well-prepared RFQ explains the interface, not only the gasket outline. It allows a buyer and manufacturing partner to identify missing information before assumptions become costly.

01

Define the geometry

Provide a drawing or a measured sketch showing outer and inner dimensions, holes, cut-outs, thickness, critical tolerances and the drawing revision. Mark which features are functionally critical.

  • Outline and opening geometry
  • Thickness and compression space
  • Critical dimensions and tolerances
02

Define the operating context

Describe the mating surfaces, expected temperature, contact media, outdoor/indoor exposure, installation method, quantity and any documentation requirement. If the request is a replacement, add photos, sample information and failure history.

NoteLead time, material, process and interchangeability are confirmed after the complete brief is reviewed.
