Measure beyond the outline

Record thickness, cross-section, cut-outs, fastener locations, surface condition and where the part sits in the assembly. Note whether the old part was compressed, cracked, swollen or damaged.

Replacement is a technical workflow, not a visual copy exercise. Confirm the intended use, validation route and acceptance criteria before calling a part interchangeable.
